exaust brake and downshifting
not really sure how exhaust brake works. when coming down a hill should I have it in tow-haul. and with exhaust brake on, should it auto shift down or should I be doing the shifting. not even sure...

According to the RAM rep the exhaust brake kicks out at 1100 RPM. That's why you should ALWAYS be in tow/haul mode when pulling your trailer as NC Hauler stated. In tow/haul your truck down shifts more aggressively keeping the engine RPM's up (higher) allowing for optimum engine braking. The higher the engine RPM the BETTER your engine brake will work!
