I always tow in t/h with e/b on. When defending long steep grades you may have to hit your service brakes ocassionally to keep the rpm or speed down. That's normal. Watch your red line and stay below it. I don't like over 2500 when braking. The tranny will shift on its own but you do have some control over it with the paddle shifter. An indicator number will appear on the instrument panel. A very light touch to the throttle pedal will reduce the e/b if needed. Basically you can't hurt it so play with it a little and you'll get used to it. Then you will REALLY like it!
