Excursion dies upon abrupt stop.
My V10 X dies sometimes upon an abrupt stop, or right after shifting into reverse. It doesn't do it every time, but a couple of times a day. It doesn't die when slowly decelerating up to a stop light...

The first thing (and only thing) you should do at this point is plug it in and read the codes. It's not a guarantee to expose the problem, but 10 minutes could save you $1000 or more of throwing parts and labor at an unknown target.
