Nothing inherantly wrong with a unibody design. They can be made just as strong, and in some cases stronger than a frame.
Something most people don't know about, ALL motor coaches are unibody. They can gross 54,000 lbs and tow 20,000 lbs, on 3 axles. That's more concentrated axle loads than Class 8 semis. Yet their chassis are rated for 2 - 3 million miles of service life.
So the more important question is, how strong is the unibody of the Durango/Grand Cherokee/Mercedes ML? Untill we know the details in bending and torsional stiffness, we can't disregard it just because it lacks a frame.
