Not a bad idea for peace of mind sake, but the fine print usually allows them to deny claims making the extended warranty useless in many cases. For motorized RVs, extended warranties are a wiser investment as a single repair bill could easily cover the cost of the extended warranty, but towables rarely incur such heavy repair bills, plus many issues can be readily diagnosed and repaired if one is handy with tools.
Ultimately it's your call and your money, we've been lucky and proactive with our current TT and have handled all the maintenance, upkeep, and minor repairs ourselves. Thankfully we have never had to drag our rig back to the dealer although they have provided miscellaneous parts and advice from time to time. Being part of this forum is not only fun, but hugely informative with all the tips on trouble-shooting along with remedies to fix the most common issues that plague RVs in general. Happy camping in your new TT!!!
