I have not been a big fan of any extended warranties but I did get one for my '06 Ford when the Ford warranty ran out in 2012. It was a 3rd party plan through Costco for $2300. Yes, a lot of money. However, last fall while on a trip I had injector/module problems and the plan payed the bill minus the $100 deductible plus included a rental. The repair total was $3500+. So I am about $1100 ahead and still have 3+ years left on the plan.
So in my case it worked! JMO
