I'd say there are 2 different types of gray water:
Shower water with hopefully at least biodegradable soap, and then kitchen/dish water that (in my case at least) contains food particles, coffee grounds, etc. I think one has less of an initial impact on the environment if allowed to water the dirt/vegetation.
