I hadn't been reading here too much lately and popped in the other night via iPhone and posted a few inane short posts on some things and then came across this thread. That shut me up and down pretty quickly. So sad. My first thought was how he had been talking for quite a while that he was going over to a 5th wheel as soon as he retired; though I was sad he was moving away from the TC, I kept thinking I can't wait to see his plan realized. I have a special sadness for those who work for so long and have put together a plan for retirement that never get to see happen. On the flip side, I did get the feeling that he was doing what he loved for a long long time, and only in the later stages of that career was he feeling 'tired' so to speak. So I am glad he seemed to get a lot out of life even though he didn't get to retire. I absolutely loved the fishing story above. That was a guy who knew how to get what he wanted out of life and obviously enjoyed the quiet relaxing times in life and his family respected that (if they were fooled or not is in question still....)
I guess I have to echo Bryan's sentiment about getting out there and doing what you love because you don't know if today is the last day.
RIP Eycom; I always thought of you every time someone asked about full-timing, and knew you'd be there to chime in about the realities of it even if it didn't match what others were saying. Like all of those that full-time in a truck camper, you had your own experiences that were unique, and were always there to share them and help educate us wannabes. I will miss you on this forum as will the forum itself. May you always be warm, and your TC full of propane.
