I'll add my voice to the Ram 3500. No issues with ours, maintenance costs have been very reasonable (oil changes, air filter, fuel filters (there are two), and a few additions), and no issues with insurance or registration (although in Nevada the latter was around $800 at 14,000 lbs GVWR).
My insurance company did send me a letter after I had it for a few months asking how much I used it for work - clearly wanting to make sure it wasn't a work truck.
