Eyeing a F-450
Hi all, I have a '06 Ram 2500 5.9 6 speed that I love, but I've outgrown it. My wife and kids were complaining every time we went somewhere about the small quad cab. So it's time to upgrade. ...

I have a new 2015 F450 and love it. $60,000 for a 2013 is way too much though. I can look it up to get the exact amount but think I only gave around $61,000 for my new 2015. Whatever it was, it was $12,0000 off the sticker price. I have insurance and the loan through USAA. Insurance was not an issue and only went up slightly from the F250 I had before. But, I should double check and make sure nothing has changed as I was just able to go online and delete the F250 and add the F450, never talked to anyone.
When I went to refinance (originally did it through Ford for the rebates) it through USAA, they had to get it approved by a supervisor since they classified it as a commercial truck. We had a few words over this but I was told it was not an issue, just had to get it approved which was not an issue and just took an extra five minutes. I'm still not sure why insuring it was not an issue at all but to finance it took a managers approval.
Originally, I had not even considered or looked at any F450's. Long story short, someone ordered this truck and backed out. It was the color and options I wanted, bigger brakes, liked the wheels much better, etc. I'm glad I got the F450 though the F350 DRW would have been very nice also and well within what I needed. But, like others have said you can never have too much truck. I do like the brakes much better than my F250 for sure but I never towed with the F350 DRW, just drove several of them. I also like to be a little different I guess. F350 and 3500 DRW trucks are literally everywhere around here. I've only seen one or two F450's and after all it's Texas, bigger is better! Again, $60,000 is way too high, good luck on your decision! I'd also want at least a 100,000 mile warranty, not 75,000. Gotta give the RAM guys a little competition!
