I think I'm between the f-350 and the Ram 3500. Im also contemplating whether or not I need a DRW. What do you guys think. My 5er is a 2 axle, 33', and weighs probably 16k fully loaded.

My toy hauler is around 12,000 empty, max weight is around 16,800. I used to pull it with an F250. After owning and towing with both I recommend a DRW truck, you'll like the tow much better than a SRW at those weights. I haven't towed a lot (three 1 1/2-2 hour each way) with the my F450 yet but can already tell I like it much better. It'll get a workout next month, headed to Arkansas then east Tennessee so will get lots of hills and descents.
