When I got my travel trailer I contacted EZpass and they did indeed tell me that I could use my regular EZpass and they would bill me for a higher rate when I was towing the trailer. However, they also told me that by getting a second transponder (blue) that I should use ONLY when towing I would be billed at a lower rate. The second EZpass cost me nothing so it seems a no-brainer to just get the second transponder.
