I work at a Ford dealership that if I put that many parts on a vehicle and you took it home and had a problem on a trip not only would they get on it right away they would burn me at the stake after making me fix it for free. I bet that is the issue. Opens enough to let it cool at lower temps, but not enough when the cooling is needed.
