F-150 to tow a light 5th - do I need HD cargo option?

Unfortunately you can no longer order a 2014 F150 HD payload truck.

You have to buy off the lot, and there are some good deals available in Ontario at Hannah Motors

And I think the 2015 HD payload trucks get up to MAX 3300# payload with the 18" Alloy wheels (3270# with the 3.5L EcoB).

But I don't think they are not being made either. "Late availability" ....
