If the wife enjoys all that EcoB power you will pay for it at the gas pump. But it's not necessary.
My average not towing since 2011 has been 20mpgUS. Don't think I could do that with any of the gas 250/2500s.
That doesn't include any winter driving as the truck is a snowbird, but it does include a lot of ugly stop-n-go traffic around Ft. Myers Fl.
Towing my 7500#, 64 sqft "sail" behind me at ~100km/hr I get 10.7 mpg on Premium.
