Also from Calgary and tried the f 150 and lite fiver route.
I had a max tow 2010 lariat with 7700 gvwr. My fiver is a cougar xlite 27sab and has a pin of 1150. I weighed everything for years trying to make it work.
With a pin noted above, 188 pound slider, 2 little boys in back seat directly on axel weight I was always over the 4050 rating and even close on truck gvwr.
A 4800 axel and the 8400 HD package would have solved it.
I added a superspring in the rear and was always happy with the 10 mpg and more importantly, the braking. Fiver loaded was always in the 8200-8700 range.
Towed last few years with my F 350 and like the change. Never worried about the groceries and beer I add to fiver and wood in the box!!!
Did not like being over 2/5 of the posted ratings.
