what is ford using for a filter ? Paper? I own a chevy and we have lots of air born dust around here so I change once a year at least and in between times I tap the dust out of the filter. does the engine need to be running when you push the button on the filter housing?
I was wondering about the second point I'll get the manual out and check. This is just stupidity on my part. The filter is pleated paper.
Well the diesel supplement manual doesn't say, I discovered the correct name: air filter restriction gauge
This appears to be only for the 6.7 L not the gas engines.
"Check the air filter restriction gauge
whenever the hood is raised to
perform general engine maintenance
at least every 7,500 miles (12,000 km). If the vehicle is operated in
extremely dusty conditions, check and reset the gauge at least every
500 miles (800 km), or two weeks, whichever comes first"
It also goes on to say it may need to be reset after driving in heavy rain or snow.
