What you are hearing may be the engine cooling fan kicking in. My '07 F350 would do that quite often during hot weather pulling the 5er fairly hard the first time I towed across the panhandle of TX. Would kick in and make a high pitched noise, almost screaming, that sounded something like the engine was reving high. Never did it not towing.
Took it to the dealer to have them check it out. They said it was the fan and did something to it and, while it still did it on occasion pulling during really hot weather, it did it much less frequently after that. Mine was still new and what ever they did they did under warranty.
