F150 ?

Hi folks I have an F450 for my heavy towing but I am going to get me a F150 for a daily driver will tow a small utility trailer at times with lawn mower. My question for you folks with experience with light trucks is which engine and which rear end ratio would you recommend?

    Forgive my ignorance, but what's a "3.7s"?

  • Yesterday, I had a young lady say to me, "WOW! you got one them new FISO... I love the styling, where did you get?" I looked at her in bewilderment and said "Hum, What?" She pointed to the Badge on the side of the truck... "FISO" The sad point is; she wasn't even a blond.

How much weight? < 4,000 lbs. I'm guessing?

I've seen many reviews that say the standard 3.7 V6 model is impressive for very light towing needs. If you have your HD model for big towing jobs, might be worth considering, and the V6. I think you have the option of 3.55 or 3.73 gears with that engine. Any new F-150 on the lot will tow what you are looking at easily.

X2, for light towing (<5k) any new F-150 will do.
