Ford works harder than anyone at gaming the EPA fuel economy numbers by using tall gearing on it trucks and SUV's. Don't think for a second that these represent real world driving performance much less performance or fuel economy when hauling a load or towing. Anyone who buys either of these trucks for towing should be sure to get the 3.73 gears.
