Wonder why ford decided to undermine the sales of its best sales engine? Doesn't sound like a very good use of stock holders dollars.
If you mean the 3.5 ?
They need it for more then the F150 ,it goes in many vehicles and is supply constrained, the 2.7 will free up and allow more flex in production planning.
They aint stupid
The Eco-diesel is also "supply constrained" and only opens up for ordering at dealers every 6-12 weeks and then closes in two days! We can't build anywhere near enough for the demand.
As for the 30mpg cliams from real owners, yes all of them are running 3:55 gears and all but one are 4X4 trucks. The guys with the 3:92 gears are running 29mpg with a very few hitting the 30+ mark now and then. The problem Ford has is when in the hands of the end user, their EB engines do not hit anywhere near Fords numbers! Not close, most owners can't keep their right foot off the floorboard. You can't have your cake and eat it too, well not in a Ford or GM that is.
Me, I had my fill of Fords in the 90's and switched to CDJR and this was long before I worked for them. I can honestly say with the 14+ new Chrysler vehicles I have owned I only had one that was a PIMA. However every single Ford I owned, spent more time in a dealerships service department that after five Ford vehicles I was done.
Buy whatever you want it is your money, but some of you guys are just haters and should stop making these BS posts under the jest of "I'd love a good debate here" it only makes you look sad.
BTW this part of your post shows it all
Hybirdhunter wrote:How are you posting facts, the truck is not even on the road yet! Wasn't it you that said until the ED was out on the road with "real world fuel numbers" it's just BS?
Best to start out by telling me how biased I am. Them tell me how Ford sucks, and I'm wrong. Or toss in some FACTS, not ad homonym and anecdotes.
Give it up dude, your only looking silly.
