If you've got an F150 3.5 ecoboost how big of a travel trailer and how much weight are you towing? Post a pic if you have it

I'm towing about 4000 lbs. Just because that's the trailer that we really liked. My Hideout 178LHS is about 21 feet, tip to tip. The F150 pulls it like it's nothing. I do feel wind and blast more than I did in my F250, but there is a huge difference in weight between the F150 and the F250.

We have a 2012 F150 Platinum EcoBoost 373 gears. I'm towing a Arctic Fox 25R 6350mt 10,000GVW we are at 7800 - 8200 depending where we are going. 9 mpg here in Alaska lots of hills with no problems.

I had a 2011 Ecoboost with over 2000# payload (4x2 SCab). After stiffening the suspension, upgrading to LT-E tires, and adding an Equal-I-Zer WDH, I towed a max 8500#, 28.5 ft long, 11.5 ft tall, 8 ft wide trailer all over for 25K miles. I wouldn't do it without those upgrades (or better, the HD Payload option).Worked fine except on a couple of very extreme downslopes, and in the mud and wet grass (it was a 4x2). There was a jarring tranny clunk when downshifting downslope into 4th. Otherwise, very quiet, very powerful. Never any mechanical problems.But I was over the rear GAWR by a few hundred pounds and over the class IV hitch receiver rating. When the drive train warranty expired, I traded it in on a heavier diesel 4x4 with an exhaust brake and class V hitch receiver.

2013 F150 cc 4x4 off road. Towing coachmen apex 214rb. 25feet overall.it is about 4200 empty and about 5200 loaded. Tows it great!!

It swayed more than I liked in crosswind. The 35'Outback was too long for it. Not enough dog for that tail.

With truck in signature towing 28' at 8k loaded. Well within specs including receiver which is rated at 1150.

Note this is Max Payload (LT tires, stiffer suspension, heavier axles). If you are towing relatively heavy I recommend LT tires and ensuring you are well within your payload and axle ratings per yellow sticker.

My point was that the engine is the last thing to look at, not the first when it comes to towing. I have looked at some powerful pickups that had unbelievably low real world towing capabilities.

Absolutely true, but I didn't see where anyone here suggested towing above the rated capacities of the truck.

The correct answer is tow within your chassis limits. Most modern pickup have enough horsepower. Payload is another matter. Put 3,000 pounds of payload in s pickup designed for 1,500 pounds and I don't care how many turbochargers it has.
