If the truck is also your daily driver, the Ecoboost will be much kinder on your gas bill than the Tundra.
I won't argue about the pulling power of the Ecoboost (although the Toyota 5.7 is very competitive there).
But the "eco" in Ecoboost is fairy dust spread by the Ford marketing department. It will not get significantly better MPG than any competitive truck. Magazine test after test prove that.
As does Fuelly data. It shows the Ecoboost gets 15-16 MPG while the Toyota gets 14-15. That delta isn't significant in my book.
F150 Ecoboost MPG This is tracking over 13 million miles.
Tundra MPG This is tracking over 9 million miles.
