Towing is a pretty specialized need in the spectrum of most consumer vehicles, even including half ton pickups. I think it's fair to recognize that EV's aren't going to be a do-all solution out of the gate, but it will be more of an evolutionary process. A game changer battery technology or some kind of on-board generator for those times when you are towing could eventually be a solution for a "green" pickup that can tow effectively over longer distances an/or tow into remote areas without recharging options. By no means am I going to be an early adopter but the direction we seem to be headed at this point seems pretty evident.
