Michelle.S IS dead on correct, in fact it IS Federal requirements for the motor vehicle manufacturers to PLACE a sticker on the vehicle in a place which can be easily accessed.
Ford has ALWAYS placed theirs on the drivers side door post since perhaps the 1960's..
This sticker contains the manufacturer date, the VIN number, option codes including axle ratio and paint colors along with axle weight rating, unladen weight and recently within the last 10 yrs the CARGO WEIGHT MUST BE INCLUDED.
