Yep, they can get up there in payload and have for a few years now with the HD pkg. My question is are they readily available or strictly special order? I have yet to find one on a lot or even with an inventory search on Ford.com or .ca. (But I haven't tried that hard)
Which is great, but I was just fiddling around on Ford's website and once I checked all the right boxes I could still walk off the lot with a comparably equipped 6.4 Ram 2500 for less money. I'm sure the 6.4 would burn a little more fuel but I doubt it would be all that material in the overall scheme of things, and you would get quite a bit more capability with the Ram. It would have a little bit rougher ride and wouldn't be quite as fast, but those don't seem like big trade-offs relative to what you would get in return.
