All I can say is that I get much better fuel economy when pulling my horse trailers than TFL trucks get pulling theirs. Maybe I am easier on the brake and gas than they are but I want to get to my destination with the horses intact. Otherwise I don't know what they do to get such rotten fuel economy. I get 10-11mpg towing with my Ecoboost F150's and just under 9.5 to 9.9 with my 35' diesel motorhome. I didn't pull a horse trailer with the rental F250 I had but I would expect 12-13mpg if I had. Maybe someday TFL will invite me to go with them to see how they burn so much fuel.
