When the particulate filters first came out it seemed that for every diesel truck test they made a big deal out of doing a regen before the test. I don't think that I have seen that mentioned lately. Of course, a true test should last an entire cycle of the filter getting dirty and then getting a regen. Or at least a fudge factor for the inevitable regens if you know that one was not done during the test.
