I have never owned one of those totes. This trip I decided to try hauling grey water in pails to the dump station. I have two five gallon pails with lids. From all my garden pails at home I chose two that had lids that went on and off easily.
So far it has worked great. last night we were headed into town. I drained the grey tank into the two pails and stopped at the dump station on the way past, just poured the grey water down the hole. I also have two jugs for fresh water, with a spout that allows them to easily be poured into the fresh tank fill hole. I filled those two jugs and refilled the fresh tank when we got back! Worked easily and the pails nest together to store, allowing only a tiny bit of truck box space to be used.
