Some macerators are powered by running water. And some are powered by electricity.
My macerator is powered by a 12V battery. It pumps through a 3/4" garden hose into the 30 gallon tote that is placed in the back of my truck. I can empty the tote with a stinky slinky at the dump station so I never have to move the tote when it has liquid in it.
