As mentioned, the FloJet Waste Macerator Pump runs on 12 vdc supplied by either your trailer or truck. If one prefers water under pressure from a fresh water supply can be connected to the macerator to back flush the tanks but I never bother, instead preferring to use a tank wand down the toilet throat when I'm servicing the tanks here at the house where I have city water under pressure readily available.

In the rare circumstance where I might want to offload and macerate the contents of the black water tank while camping I simply run the toilet to add fresh water to the black water tank but this of course has nothing to do with the macerator itself.
