42 gallons is a lot of water weight but no one said you have to fill it to 100%.

The 42 gallon tote is too big not to use it to the fullest. Filling it 1/2 way really doesn't make sense. It would make more sense to just by a smaller,easier to store, cheaper tank then to buy a 42 and fill it 1/2 way.
The whole point of the 42 is you can dump the entire tank in one shot.
Hauling it around and not filling it to full capacity is counterproductive.
