Family of 6 future tow vehicle.

Good luck on your "grail hunt" ! Finding a newer vehicle large enough to comfortably seat a family of 6 with sufficient power to tow 10,000 lbs "smartly" up and down the Rockies does not exist anymore. Down size the trailer to under 7,000 lbs LOADED and an Expedition with EcoBoost will handle it easily. Don't forget, you probably have well over 1,500 pounds of cargo in the vehicle.

In the Midwest, anything over 10 years old already has "one foot in the grave" from rust.


EDIT: Some one else mentioned it. Get a 3/4 ton crew cab and a small car.
