BUT we really like having them OPEN and running when it rains (cool air/smell of rain etc.) so I installed MAX AIR Covers.
Love them staying open now when it rains.

Mine is covered by a Max Air and here in the tip of south Texas the rain sensor work fine. The fan will continue to operate in a shower and close in a deluge.
