I would get a Maxxaire type where the fan is located to the rear away from the opening and pointed down so it could be run in the rain, etc. don't know if fantastic has such an arrangement. of course could put a maxxaire cover over a fantastic fan if you want extra work/expense.
I think I have seen variable speed fans but 14 speeds seems more like a sales gimmick than necessary. just more to go wrong?
