The dome switch in our fan became intermittant,then inoperable. I squirted some WD-40 and it worked a little, then nothing. I just called Fantastic Fan on an 800 number. A very nice lady in tech service said," We'll have a switch in the mail tomorrow." "How much will it be?" I asked. "Nothing," she replied. No fuss, no muss! It was new in 2005, the fan is one of our most used gadgets. She asked no questions about age or anything. OUTSTANDING !

Isn't it great that there are a few companies left today that "get it". Too bad so many have closed their doors, should have followed these types of companies!

No problems with any of them!I remember in 1997 when Fantastic Fan almost disappeared forever after a fire burned down the factory to the ground! In just 11 days they started production again! In 2010, Fan-Tastic Vent was acquired by Atwood Mobile Products, a leading supplier to the recreation vehicle industry. Lots of people including me thought "oh well, that's the end of Fantastic Fan's supurb customer service!"But under Atwoods Management, Fan-Tastic Vent continues to be one of the most recognized brand names in the industry, has sold over 2.5 million fans and continues to suprise us with their customer service! Thanks for comments. Both fans seem to be good quality.

Since my plan is to use the TC for lots of backcountry forest 4x4 roads, I will not be mounting an AC. So I will need good ventilation in warm weather, even when it's drizzling or raining.

Putney, basically the Fantastic Fan works as an attic exhaust fan. We leave only one front window open in warm weather and the thermostatic switch controls its operation. We have ours covered with a hatch cover, there is also a rain sensor accessory which provides the same service as the hatch cover. We find the Fantastic Fan a useful device when the air conditioner is not practical.

Can somebody tell me what is so 'fantastic' about them?

Actually, I prefer the Shur-flo Comfort Air. They are a lot quieter, totally variable speed (not just 3 settings) and they have the same great service if anything goes wrong. You can use them closed, like a ceiling fan. I have changed out nearly all of my Fan-tastic fans.

I agree. Great company! A couple years ago a micro switch failed on my fantastic fan and I stopped at a Camping World store to see if they had the part. The Camping World salesman said they didn't really carry parts for those fans, but to just call the Fantastic Fan customer service because they guarantee the fans and would probably just send me the part. He was correct. I called and got the part at no cost. Don't get no better than that!

I always request a Fantastic Fan in all my RV's. I just attempted to mount a Maxxair II over my Fantastic Fan and the fit was poor, so I bought a Fantastic Breeze cover and the fit is fantastic! Great American company.
