Farthest tow..?

A few years ago my sister got married in Tennessee. Her father and mother-in-law pulled their travel trailer from Oregon. When they left Tennessee they went to Florida and took a route through Texas, New Mexico, California on their way back to Oregon. Last year I was in Tennessee and a travel trailer passed me with Canadian tags.. I have pulled a travel trailer a few hours away but, never any long trips.

What the farthest distance (most miles in one continuous trip) that you have ever pulled your travel trailer?

Why do you say that? Are you retired?
  • Towed my trailer from Vancouver, B.C. to lakeland, Fl. 3500 miles, spent 5 days in Lakeland, and 3500 miles back again. I did that 7 years in a row.
Each way took 7 days at 500 miles /day.
  • Went from Kerrville TX to Alaska in 2015 with much sight seeing along the way with a return to Kankakee IL total 15,000 miles. More than twice our annual travel mileage up till then. That was our big trip.

We already have 6,000 miles since Jan 6 of this year and have a 1,000 miles to our summmer volunteer position before returning to Kankakee, IL another 1,000 miles and then to Labanon TN another 500 miles for a stint with Amazon for PEAK.

After Amazon we'll tool down to Tampa for Christmas with DD that should do us for this year.

The fuel prices now allow us to travel more, they were +$4.00 per gal in 2010 when we started.

  • Longest trip, just under 11,500 miles from Michigan to Homer Alaska (and a few other spots out yonder) and back again.

Longest recent drive in one "sitting" North Platte NE to Michigan City IN around New Years 2016, spent about 16 hours at the wheel towing.
  • We have taken two Coast to Coast loops from Seattle to Key West and back.... one of them in a Coleman Sea Pine pop-up.
  • Total of 4300 miles. Mojave, Death Valley, and Joshua Tree NPs, and Anza Borrego state park.
  • Towing was 3590.5, total trip was 4,300.1 in 15 days. 710 miles of sightseeing not towing.
  • Spent 7 yrs FT travel ALL over the USA
Border to border, coast to coast and zig-zaging in between

But the longest drive was just shy of 400 miles in the worst Rain Storm we have every been in

Now in a car.....1718 miles straight thru. Gas/pee stops only
  • im definitely a newer/younger owner, our furthest was 3,333 miles (yep, on the dot) last fall. Went from Chicago area, to Badlands, to Black Hills, to Colorado, back to Chicago through Nebraska and Iowa.
