When I was at Torklift earlier this year, I asked them how to adjust. They told me exactly the above, which is what I had already been doing.
I also run the Fastguns with locks on 3 and the 4th one (front driver side) I use a quick release pin that came with the fastguns so I have easy access to the fuel door. (Fastgun blocks it)
