We were on our way to the Devils Tower... Janet was driving and telling me about a movie called
"Close Incounters of a Third Kind" when she saw them cross in front of us....
We had no idea that we'd see them again and of course no one would believe us..."Angels over Devils Tower
"... no way.
We ended up getting 36 pictures of them... and just over 20 minutes and they were gone.
The US Navy's Blue Angels were in Cheyenne, WY for an air show. This was a practice day or their arrival.
We were lster told by someone from the Park Service after we finely went on to the National Monument that the Blue Angels had come to Devils Tower to do a joint promotional film with the Devils Tower National Monument featuring both.
(Now we think the enployee at the Monument was guessing.... It was too good a show to shelve if there were any films of it... and we haven't seen any)
Visitors at the base of the 1200 foot tower didn't have our view... no one else stopped to see what we were looking at... their vehicles passed us going towards the tower, never giiving us a glance as we were parked on the side of the road...spell bound with the show, I guess they were just in too big a hurry to check the National Monument off of their list.
