How could GM have the money to buy anyone? It wasn't long ago when GM was bailed out by the U.S. I'm sure they are in better shape now after the buyout but seams they are still a financially weak company but I'm not sure if there are any really strong auto companies left that have lots of cash and little debt?
As of Dec. 31, 2014 GM held 25.2 billion in cash. They recently announced a 5 billion dollar stock buyout. They do seem to be financially sound. - dodge_guyExplorer III personally would never own a GM product. too many problems from transmissions, clusters, computers, etc. etc. not too mention the mushy handling in the 1500`s let alone the lady like looks of the trucks!
- wilber1ExplorerI dunno. Went to the transfer station yesterday to get rid of some old stuff that had been clutttering up the place. Seven out of ten pickips there at the time were late model Rams. Surprized me even. The others were two Tundras and a Ford. The people around here must just love junk.

Hmmmmm, there's an educated statement. So the Cummins Rams are junk? I guess you had better tell that to the millions of people who have and love them; including the numerous ones with over 1 million miles on them. Might want to think about your statement!
Engines are fine, rest of the truck is junk...
Sorry, those that track reliability put Chrysler at the bottom of the barrel. And they have for years.
When I bought my 98 RAM/Cummins I bought it for the engine figuring the truck would fall apart. You are so wrong and so was I. That truck at 400K still has the original tie rod ends U joints and it's rattle free and the dash is not cracked. I broke the rear pinion gear at 300K doing a 20# launch, One ball joint was showing signs of wear so I replaced them all along with the wheel hub assemblies and front U joints since I had gotten 300K and all was easy to replace at that time.
The interior looks new the body has no rust. Awesome dependable truck! - GBuildersExplorerWow there sure are a lot of haters in this thread. I didn't realize how many felt that way. I bet most of them have never even owned a Ram and have been so brand loyal for all those years. I've owned them all and I bought another Ram because I like the Megacab DRW short bed and the last one gave me 200k miles of good service. All of them have some junk and remember the GM ignition problems that caused like 80 something deaths or the junk Dieses that Fords sold in their trucks? Chrysler has their problems no doubt but this seams more like FCA Managment problems. What do you think the market would look like if we let GM and Chrysler fail? Ford would probably be gone as well.

It'a all junk ans has been forever, including Ram and Jeep.
I cannot agree with that. There have been some good vehicles from that company over the years. The Ram trucks for the most part. My Chrysler 300C has been trouble free for 8 years running. Friends run Grand Caravan vans and put some high mileage on them without serious problems.
Jeep, never owned one but I do believe one of the former moderators in the truck camper forum said Jeep was an acronym for Just Empty Every Pocket. :B - blofgrenExplorer

If nobody wants it are we going to have to be bail em out once again??? this company is like the welfare cousin of the auto industry.. Why do we have to keep of subsidizing their products for the sake of the few who want them?
We've bailed out Chrysler twice, what's a 3rd time? Time to flush them in the toilet where they belong. - itguy08Explorer
