Feedback on TTs

My wife and I are ready to get into trailer camping. We know we want a travel trailer. We have narrowed our search down to the Forest River Surveyor, the KZ Spruce escape, the Venture sonic and are tempted by the Lance 1575 and 1685.

Anyone out there have one of these brands or have experience with them? Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks

  • I would take Lance over a Forest River product any day. Better still, go with Northwood. I took a long time comparing them all. Don't forget to look at the frames, the most important part. Neither Lance nor Northwood use Lippert Frames which are trouble prone.

And avoid front windows. A leak waiting to happen, covered or not.

And the most important thing, what are you planning tow it with? If its a 1/2 ton I would stay under 3500 lbs dry, no matter what the book says
  • Go for the Lance. Took me a couple of different trailers to arrive at the Lance and couldn't be happier! If you have any specific questions about Lance, I could probably answer them here or in PM.

Trying to find a used Lance will tell you that people want to keep them.

I do see them for sale used but that could be for lack of use. I would also be taking a good hard look at Lance. If the floor plan worked, it would be a top contender for me based on your list. But I'd also be looking at the Northwood family (Nash, Arctic Fox, Desert Fox).
  • we have a 2011 KZ Spree. This will be our 5th season with this trailer and have had no issues.
  • LOL...I must have typed it too much past my bedtime- it is a Spree Escape.
    What size do you have?
  • We have a Spree Escape, been really happy with it. No issues! What is the KZ Spruce Escape, if I may ask, spruce paneling inside??

Go with the Lance. Well constructed, quality work. I have two friends who have Lance trailers and have no issues. Trying to find a used Lance will tell you that people want to keep them.
