Hope this means some cheap used RAM diesels in the future! Like what happened to vdub and their diesels. (I know it wasn't Rams, but one can hope....right?) personally I don't care what comes out the fart pipe as long as it runs well and gets good mileage. Environmental benefit to nox reduction? Absolutely. Save the ozone layer for the future. DPF trapping soot? Who cares. It's a solid, it hits the ground and there's not enough of it to pollute the water and ground and it's not polluting the air.

This may apply to the Ram 1500 diesel...

I think the governments need to wake up and see what needs to be done to a diesel to make them work properly! They are not what they are all cracked up to be! Especially the later model ones.

In the case of the US,cheating on FE is another way to get around CAFE regulations.
In the case of RAM and Bigeland they were caught out. Mitsubushi was also caught outside the US on FE numbers, got a huge fine as a result.It is being acquired by Nissan

The auto manufacturers are up against a wall on emissions and fuel economy.
The eventual answer will be more electric vehicles.

Nope. None of the vehicles listed are sold in the US except for the Renegade but it's not sold with the Diesel here.

I don't see anything in the article that even implies that the Ram 1500 was considered. Until it is proven guilty it gets the benefit of the doubt but until it is tested there is doubt. I am astounded both by how widespread the cheating was and how long it took governments to catch on. Seems like either gross incompetence or payoffs.
