Ford has never needed federal guarantees or cash infusions. My question is very fair. Since Chrysler is now 100 owned by Fiat, an Italian Corporation, will the US still be called upon should Chrysler need bailing out a third time?bigdogger wrote:

So here is a history lesson for you.
1, The UAW or more correctly the employee pension fund was used to keep Chrysler afloat the first time. The only involvement the US Government had was in backing or guaranteeing the pension fund would be repaided.
2, Chrysler nor GMC wanted to go through bankruptcy, that was mandated by three Republicans. The only reason we needed to ask for LOANS was because the Bankers would not refinance our (Chrysler & GM) loans. Ford was able to refinance only after the Ford Family put up eveything they owned.
Give this BS a rest already.
