And then there is component sharing. Ram (Chrysler) and Nissan both use Cummins engines and Aisin transmissions. Aisin is owned in part by Toyota, and almost every OEM on the planet uses an Aisin transmission in at least one model. Saturn (GM) at one time used Honda engines in some models, Chrysler makes VW's Routan minivan, it goes on and on.
