I've run a B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch on a couple F-250s and it is a great product. It allows for a flat floor in your PU bed but can be setup for a fifth wheel with their Companion hitch add on. I've only pulled goosenecks so have no first hand experience with the fifth wheel option but if it up to their standards of quality and fit I would preddict it is a great product. I also have one of their Stow and Go three ball hitches for bumper pulls and it the best. I had a minor cosmetic concern about the 2" ball on the hitch and after asking if I did something wrong and sending a photo they sent a NEW part!
The two safety chain "U" bolt for the gooseneck are maybe 1/4" proud of the bed surface but I use a Tractor Supply horse stall mat cut in four sections and I leave a 2" gap for those link so not an issue. Being able to switch from gooseneck to TC by just releasing a pin is about as simple as it gets.
I run Firestone airbags so I milled (having a Bridgeport is an nice)a notch to clear one bag mount but other than that it was super easy on the install. Too bad you are not in Alabama as the folks at http://www.customcampercovers.com/ drilled the new hole in the bed when I switched truck for $50 buck and the are great folks and a B&W dealer.
