120K mi is not a lot. I would definitely upgrade the shocks assuming it still has the **** factory GM shocks. They don't last more than about 30K mi.
May also look into adding a transfer flow tank to the bed if you don't like making lots of stops. That truck only has a 26gal tank and the 8.1 is pretty thirsty motor but gets the job done.
