So, not sure I understand on the propane tanks. Mine are laying horizontal also. Can I still just exchange them or should I just try to get them filled?
You can "just replace them", but if they are like new and have been under cover all these years they should still function like new. Just have them checked by a professional if you are concerned. Otherwise, get them filled up and check for leaks with soapy water. These tanks last decades ! It's more the hoses you would need to worry about.
