Ok, I have owned diesel vehicles for 20 years, and reading these posts has confused me! I have never used gasbuddy on any other app. Driving on Interstate's you will see signs about services provided at the next exit, gas stations with diesel are listed, if it does not specifically state diesel, then do not exit there. You should seek stations with a lot of traffic, diesel will get water in it if it sits for a while, that can at least put a crimp in your travel plans. Check your user manual or ask your service manager about bio diesel in your vehicle, depending on year and manufacturer your engine may or may not run on all types of bio diesel. If you really want to map out diesel stations on your trip, check truck stops such as Travel America, or similar stations. They should list where they are and you can go from there. Last, get a good idea of the range you can get towing your rig. That should help you to plan on where to stop. Do not run dry, or very low before refueling, I generally start looking at about 1/4 full. Debris can settle on the bottom of the tank, yes you should have a fuel filter to handle that but why tempt fate? Again in over 20 years of driving diesel vehicles I never was in a situation where finding fuel was a problem, good luck and enjoy your trip!
