How do you not get your dogs out??? I just don't understand people.
People underestimate how fast fires spread. Chances are the fire spread so fast that rescue efforts would've been block. The toxic smoke from a RV fire can kill you seconds and skin burns fairly easily. Running through a fully engulfed RV to save pets would be pretty foolhardy. Each year lots of people die attempting to rescue pets from fires. The best that you can do is get out and save your life, give them as many escape options as you can, start calling them, and hope that they'll come to you. Chances are they'll find their way out.
I've survived a rapidly moving house fire before. I'll never pass judgement on the actions some takes during the event. Once you've lived thorough it you see things differently. You literally have second to make life changing decisions. You have seconds just to save your own life, let alone another. That's why it's a good idea to check all of your safety equipment and practice escapes before the fire happens.
