right now tire rack has the bridgestone duravis R 500 tires on special for a similar price to the transforce .
the duravis r500 is a very substantial tire and weighs more than a similar firestone , michelin , continental , in the load range E category .
there have been some posters on this forum bragging about the duravis r500 and i have to say i do not find fault with that reccommendation .
i had limited experience with a set of firestones that were oem on my duramax .
i would check out the bridgestones ( on rebate ) at the same price as the firestones .
i have 60,000 on my michelins . they have not needed rebalancing , they are quiet , they handle well , place well in the tests , and the ofor $150 each mounted and balanced out the door price.nly drawback is the initial purchase price .
i may consider the duravis R500 when these michelins wear out .
assuming a big price discount to the michelins ........
